Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026. This policy is informational and has not been reviewed by qualified legal counsel — see the note at the bottom.

1. What VC Radar is

VC Radar is a static website with no backend server or database of its own. It is built and maintained independently by Abhishek Shekhar Jha. Because there is no VC Radar server storing user data, most traditional "data collection" concerns don't apply in the way they would to a typical web application — but this policy explains exactly what does happen with your information.

2. Uploaded CVs, investment theses, and pitch decks

The Directory's Investor Match tool lets you upload a CV, investment thesis, or pitch deck. These files are read and processed directly in your browser. The matching engine is rule-based and runs locally; no document text is sent to VC Radar or any remote scoring provider.

VC Radar itself does not have a server that receives, logs, or stores uploaded document content. Your files remain on your device during the session and are not uploaded by the matching tool.

If you close your browser tab, the extracted text and your results are gone — there is no account, no history, and nothing to delete on our end because nothing was stored here in the first place.

3. Form fields (name, gender, city, company, stage, etc.)

Information you type into the matching tool's form fields is processed in your browser to calculate the local match. It is not uploaded or stored by VC Radar's matching code.

4. Directory information (VC firms)

The firm names, categories, cities, websites, and email addresses in the VC Directory are not personal data about you — they are professional contact information about VC firms, sourced from public listings and web research. See our Data & Methodology page for sourcing details.

5. Cookies and local storage

VC Radar does not use tracking cookies or persistent local storage to identify or track individual visitors. Browser-standard, non-identifying technical requests (e.g. loading a webpage) are inherent to how the web works and are not used here for tracking purposes.

6. Hosting and analytics

If VC Radar is hosted on GitHub Pages or a similar static hosting provider, that provider may log standard, aggregate technical information (such as IP addresses in server logs) as part of normal web hosting operation, independent of anything VC Radar itself does. If any analytics tool is added in the future, this policy will be updated to disclose it before it is enabled.

7. Third-party links

VC Radar links to external websites (VC firm websites, source articles in the Investor Library, etc.). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those external sites — review their own policies separately.

8. Children's privacy

VC Radar is intended for professional and educational use by adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

9. International users

VC Radar can be accessed globally. The matching tool does not transmit uploaded documents or form responses to a remote scoring service.

10. Reporting a concern or correction

To report a privacy concern, or to request a correction to directory information, see the Report Incorrect Information section on the About page, or reach out via the contact listed there.

Note: This policy describes VC Radar's actual technical implementation as accurately as possible at the time of writing, but it is not a substitute for professional legal advice. VC Radar does not claim to be compliant with any specific privacy law (including GDPR, the UK GDPR/PECR, India's DPDP Act, or US state privacy laws) — anyone with specific compliance requirements should consult qualified legal counsel for their jurisdiction.
